Hymn 4 – As the Deer

lcvp 006The Message was given by Mr.Bergin on the subject of Faith.
Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1. It is complete trust and confidence in God.  There are 2 elements to faith. Believe that He is, and that he is a rewarder of those who seek him and do as he asks. Verse 6.  There are 2 types of faith, the living and the dead. James 2:17.  Belief in itself is not sufficient for salvation. Even Satan believes and trembles. Verse 19. Repentance is the first step, and then we become a new creation. 2 Corinthians 5:17. Faith is the basis of our new life in Christ. We are not saved by works. Ephesians 2:8-9.  James 2:18. We do things or don’t do them because of our faith. Don’t worry about things you have no control over. That is like a rocking chair, it comforts you but doesn’t take you anywhere. Don’t doubt. God’s love is steadfast. Proverbs 28:16. 2 Corinthians 5:7. Human nature has failed. We need the mind of Christ. Let God direct our path. Our faith will be tested. Faith is like a muscle that needs exercising daily. 1 Peter 1:6-7. What result does faith bring? Everlasting life.  Repent and receive the Holy Spirit.

The final Hymn was My Shepherd Will Supply My Need after which the Closing Prayer was given by Peter Beardsmore.
