Hymn 1.  And Can It Be

Nancy played a short Video Clip of Joseph Tkach Speaking Of Life, entitled A Heavenly Gift.

Hymn 2.  By Faith
Earth From Space

Nancy then showed some amazing photos taken by Astronaut Douglas Wheelock from the International Space Station that show the awesome power of our resurrected Lord, our Creator and Saviour.

Winston Bothwell leads Intercessory PrayerIntercessory Prayer was offered by Winston Bothwell and included:
*It is good to be alive with beauty all around us and we thank you, Lord, for the wonders of your creation.
*We are mindful of the sacrifice of your Son and the pain and suffering caused by sin. Thank you that we can meet here, and for the future we have because of Jesus.
*There is ongoing unrest worldwide, particularly at this point in time, in Syria and the Ukraine.  Give them the courage to look to you to see them through this crisis.
*Please be with the families mourning the loss of loved ones in the missing plane and those who died in the overturned ship this week.  It is easy to blame, but this doesn’t bring back loved ones.
*Many need your healing power, and we think of John Halford, recently diagnosed with cancer.  Encourage and heal him.  Be with his family who are shocked and concerned.
*Melvin Rhodes continues to have many health issues, including tumours in his spine.  Be with him and in your mercy give him relief from his pain, and healing.
*Thank you for the daily sustenance as we live in this land of plenty.  We pray for those struggling financially.
*Reawaken this nation during this publicity over whether we are to be considered a Christian Nation and help us to share our precious knowledge with those around us.
*We are meeting adjacent to an Old People’s Home and we pray for the elderly and the homes that care for them.
*Help, inspire and guide us in our daily lives.

Hymn 3.  All Heaven Declares
Hymn 4.  At The Name Of Jesus

David Silcox gave a short report on his recent trip to Greece where they held a Lord’s Supper Service, Bible Studies and fellowshipped over wonderful Greek cuisine.  Manuel Phoenix sends his regards, as do Marcous and Michael Wells.
David then introduced the Offering by reading John 20:21 where Jesus tells his disciples that as the Father has sent him, he also sends you—this is a very personal and individual responsibility.  Our offerings are one way we respond to this sending.  An Offering was then taken up during a new song, Go Forth And Tell, after which Mike Barlow asked a Blessing over the Offering
Church prayingHymn 6.  Because He Lives

David gives the SermonThe Sermon was given by David Silcox on the subject of ‘Because He Lives’, listing 5 things that his resurrection leads to.
Because He Lives we have his presence around us, Matthew 28:20 says he is with us to the end of the age and this is possible because he lives!
Because He Lives we have his peace to secure us, John 20:21.  In the Ukraine they declared a ‘temporary peace for Easter’, but peace is not the absence of war.  God’s peace is not temporary or conditional, Philippians 4:6&7 – the peace that passes understanding covers past, present and future.
Because He Lives we have his power to strengthen us, Ephesians 1:19.  The working of his mighty power make a difference in our lives.  Let’s not be like the lady who only used electric light to find and light her oil lamp!
Because He Lives we have a job to do.  John 20:21 and Acts 1:8—we are to be witnesses.  David played the song I Serve A risen Saviour—we go forth and tell others of our risen Saviour in our service to Him.
Because He Lives we have hope for the future.  John 14:19 says because I live you shall live also.  In the words of the Hymn:  I serve a risen Saviour, he’s in the world today.  He Lives, He Lives, Christ Jesus lives today…salvation to impart.

The final Hymn was The Lion Of Judah
after which the Closing Prayer was led by Phillip Halford, who also asked a blessing on the meal that followed the Service.
