*God in heaven, our Saviour, creator, we might do things differently than your will but we pray your will, will be done.
*We ask you to intervene in the lives of those who are suffering.  We think particularly of Ruth Edwards, Judy Harper, Bernie Schnippert.
*Linda Zehetmayr is going through surgery today and we pray that you will guide the surgeons, and to take over to do the things that we can’t.
*We think now of Margaret Silcox in Hospital, Valerie Philo in a care home and Jack Stokes suffering each in their own way.
*Comfort the bereaved.  The hurt never goes away but your comfort can bring peace
*There are many conflicts and wars in the present world, some even thinking wrongly that they are serving you when they kill and maim.  If it is your will, influence those deluded people and guide them away from violence.
*The ebola virus is wreaking havoc in Africa and we ask for your help to control and eradicate this scourge.
*Be with George during his operation on Friday and be with the surgeons and doctors that all will go well and he will have a speedly recovery
*We ask your blessing and your will be done.

Hymn 4.  Wonderful Grace

David Stirk for Day by DayThe Message was given by David Stirk.  He began by asking what are we saved FOR?  Given that everything is done for the glory of God, LIFE is the answer—we are saved for life! What is life?
John 1:1 tells us that in Him was life.  We were made of the dust of the ground.  A corpse is a body but God breathed into us the gift of life.  Not like Frankenstein—lightening or all the power in the world cannot give life—there is only one source of life and that is God.  Read Acts 17:23-31  God that made the world and all things therein—verse 25 He gives life to all.
God gives Eternal Life through his son, Jesus.  John 5:26 says that as the Father has life in himself, he has given to the Son to have life in himself.  and in 6:33 it says the Son gives life to the world.  This is a different life than that spoken of in Genesis.  This is Life Eternal.  John 17:2 makes this distinction saying that Jesus Christ was given power over all flesh that he should give Eternal Life to us.  We have Eternal Life in the Son of God-1 John 5:11

The final Hymn was The solid Rock after which the Closing Prayer was led by George Henderson
