Hymn 4 – My Shepherd Will Supply My Need
Hymn 5 – As the Deer

The Sermon was given by Mr.Bergin entitled, Earthen Vessels.
Have you ever been to a special banquet where expensive food and drinks were served in silver dishes and crystal glasses?  We assume that people who live in grand houses and drive expensive cars must be very rich. We read in 2 Timothy 2:20 about a house that does not just have vessels of gold and silver, but also wood and clay. Vessels of clay do not have strength or beauty, and can easily chip or break. We are not a vessel of gold or silver. We are earthen vessels. 2 Corinthians 4:6-7.
As a Christian we are all imperfect, but equal. None are less important, all are different and all have sinned. Those who are baptised have God’s Holy Spirit and we are all part of the body of Christ. 1 Corinthians 12:27. We should always try to understand each other as individuals and not dwell on their imperfections. We should listen to people and never try to humiliate them. We can disagree without being disagreeable. 1 Corinthians 12:25-26. Colossians 3:11.
Some people do have important roles, but we should never feel superior.
We read throughout the Bible that we should love, support and care for each other. We are God’s work in progress until we die. We should rejoice in the forgiveness of God’s grace and be patient with others.
2 Peter 3:9. We will not always be earthen vessels, because one day will be God’s jewels for all eternity. Malachi 3:17.

The Final Hymn was All Hail the Power of Jesus’ Name, after which the Closing Prayer was led by Mike Barlow.

Fellowship continued over refreshments in the Church Hall.

Children’s Church took place during the Sermon time.
