Hymn 4 –  In the Tomb so Cold
Hymn 5 – From the Squalor of a Borrowed Stable

ancientbibleThe Message was given by Mr. Carion on The Power of God.
We have had very inspiring hymns and prayers today. Mr.Carion then read Paul’s words in 1 Corinthians 1:4-5.”I always thank God for you because of his grace through Jesus. You were enriched in every way”. This is not human wisdom, it is the power of God. The cross has power. Verses 17-18. 1 Corinthians 15:1-4. Paul then goes on to ask “How do some among you say that there is no resurrection of the dead?” Verse 12. If there is no resurrection, then Christ is not risen and your preaching is empty and also your faith. We would then be false witnesses of God if the dead do not rise, and your faith will be futile. You will still be in your sins. All those who have fallen asleep in Christ will have perished. If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men the most pitiable. Verses 13-19. These are all negatives.
Christ has risen! We can turn these into positives. We can be useful, we do not live in vain, we are not false witnesses, not still in our sins, not lost and not to be pitied. We should be envied because Christ did rise from the dead, and we are forgiven. Verses 20-23. Christ died once for all. We are under grace and live in his forgiveness. Stand firm. Our life is not in vain or pointless. God paid the highest price. We will inherit a new eternal body because Christ has risen through the power of God. 1 Corinthians 15:58.

The Final Hymn was Jesus Christ is Risen Today, after which the Closing Prayer and blessing on the food was asked by Geoff Sole.

We then all enjoyed a buffet meal together.
