Hymn 4 – Lord, I come Before your Throne of Grace
Hymn 5 – Be Thou my Vision

Mike Barlow gives the SermonThe Sermon was given by Mike Barlow. For God so loved the world that he gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16. Believe in Christ. What does this mean? The perfect love of God is total and eternal. We read or hear these words, but can we say yes I do believe. God is trustworthy. All who trust him will have eternal life. You may believe a Politician but do you trust them. Faith is trust in whatever God says, will come to be. Hebrews 11:6. God rewards those who love him. What should our love of God accomplish in our lives? If you love your husband or wife, you want to please them. What can we do to please God? Read Hebrews 13:20-21. 1 Thessalonians 4:1. Leave your old life and ways. Ephesians 4:22-32. Grow in righteousness. Be kind and tenderhearted. Verse 32. Ephesians 3:14-21. God’s nature is love and he forms his love in us. Galations 5:22-23. The Bible is our handbook of life. It is a gift from God. 2 Timothy 3:16. All scripture is given by inspiration of God. It is freely given and precious. We should try to please God in every aspect of our lives.

The Final Hymn was The Lord’s my Shepherd, after which the Closing Prayer was given by Irene Wilson.

In the Young People’s Church last week we looked at the lives of Ruth and David (a descendant).  This week we watched some animated videos of these and other stories from the Bible.  We did this with the lights off and passed around bowls of different flavoured pop-corn, like the cinema.  The Teachers were Peter Beardsmore and Jo Esom.
