Hymn 4 – Hallelujah Sing to Jesus
Hymn 5 – Jesus Christ, I think upon your Sacrifice

mikeThe Message was given by  Mike Barlow.
We are all prone to sin. Romans 3:23. God intends us to be happy and to be purified as gold is. Matthew 5:8 tells us that blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. Sin is impure and we all have this in us. Romans 7:11. Our lives should be pure in heart, but only God can make us pure by the indwelling of his Holy Spirit. We need to learn more about the refining process. We should be unpolluted, morally pure, honest and single minded to be more like God and sincere in Christ.
We should not just feel guilt, but should be Christians and not just religious. We should study God’s word to be purified. Psalms 119:9 and 12:6. We will need repentance and patience. 2 Peter 3:9. James 4:8.  Romans 8:26-30. James 3:17-18. God will help us to obtain this goal and we will be with him forever. Philippians 4:19-20.

The Final Hymn was Blessed be the Lord God Almighty after which the Closing Prayer was given by Sueann Henderson.

Fellowship continued over refreshments in the Church Hall.

The Young Peoples Church continued with the story of the life of Jesus. We looked back a few months to when we read about Jesus healing the paralytic who had been lowered through the roof to Him. Nobody is recorded as complaining about the damage to the roof. Was this in fact Jesus’ own house. We know from scripture that He left Nazareth and moved to Capernaum. The Bible says they removed the tiles, so this was a well made house, not one made of earth and branches.  We looked back at this because it is the subject for Messy Church this month, and we practised lowering a pallet through a hole in a carboard house without dropping the patient. This was one of the activities for Messy Church in the afternoon and they had a lot of fun doing it. The spiritual message is that Jesus has the authority to forgive sins, as well as heal people. This offended the Pharisees.
The teachers were Peter, Caroline and Rebecca.
