2015-12-19 Watford Service-George Henderson gives the SermonThe Message was given by George Henderson. an Atheist was once asked what he thought of Christ. He replied that everything depends on if he really did rise from the dead. Today we are here to celebrate and contemplate the resurrection of Christ. We can read in 1 Corinthians 15:3-8 just how many people saw him after he had risen. Verse 5, Peter and the 12. Verse 6, 500 people at once. Verse 7, James and all the apostles. Verse 8-Paul. In just 7 weeks Jesus’s disciples were transformed and ready to lay down their lives for Christ. No-one would die for something they knew was a lie. The enemies of Jesus could not produce a body and there was no conspiracy. Many sceptics have set out to disprove the resurrection and then have become Christians! The existence of the New Testament church proves that Christ did rise. We live now and will live again in the future. Christ cannot die again. Romans 6:8-10. It was once for all, verse 10. We have been raised with Christ and now should set our minds on heavenly things and not earthly. Colossians 3:1-4.

The final Hymn was Thine Be The glory after which the Closing Prayer was led by Geoff Sole

Fellowship continued over refreshments.
