2016-03-12 James Henderson preaching in WatfordThe Message was given by James Henderson who began by quoting an article about the end of Christianity. There are many negative articles about religion around as numbers attending church decline. A book called The End of Faith says ‘faith is the Devil’s masterpiece’. So does God really know what is going on?
In Exodus 2:23 when the people cried out to God, he heard in verse 24. God is eternally present whether we believe in him or not. He would have noticed even if they had not cried out. He is ever present and always aware of us. He is always with us. King David asked, “Where can I go from your Spirit?” going on to say God was everywhere and sees everything. Even if the Church shrinks and shrinks, God is still eternally present. God is who he is, not who anyone thinks or say is he; and whether you believe it or not. He says, I AM and exists everywhere and always. John 8:58 says I am in times of trouble and in times of good. John 14:18-20 talks of you in me and I in you. Hebrews 13:5 tells us he will never leave nor forsake you, yesterday, today and forever. Therefore verse 9, don’t be deceived by strange teachings. No matter what is happening to us, GOD IS WITH YOU—in times of joy, in trials, even in dementia!

The final Hymn was Onward Christian Soldiers after which the Closing Prayer was led by David Silcox

Fellowship continued over refreshments in the church hall.
2016-03-12 Children's Church in Watford

In the Young People’s Church we looked at the subject of Jesus walking on water. They read the account in Matthew 14:22-33 and also looked at a map showing where the Sea of Galilee is. It was explained to them that Jesus really walked on water and that he did so to demonstrate that he really is the Son of God. The young people saw an experiment with sunflower oil float on lemonade and what happens to the lemonade when salt is added through the oil. They also saw two eggs sitting in the bottom of a jar covered with water, but then float after salt was poured into the water. They also tried to float paperclips on water tension and only succeeded after several attempts. They finished the lesson by making boats and some of the younger ones coloured in an 8-page story book about Jesus walking on the Sea of Galilee.
