Hymn 4. There Is A Redeemer

The Message was given by Olivier Carion who reminded us that anything can happen in this world at any moment of any day. People are anxiour, insecure and confused. We know that Jesus died violently. He was raised and became our justification. Romans 4:25. What if we lived in another land and our crime required us to be punished? The King there said that we could find a substitute to take our punishment for us, but how would we know when we would be free? When we see that person walking free. Jesus as our substitute paid the price. God raised Jesus, the tomb is empty. We no longer need to be afraid. How can we have the assurance that God will never leave us? God’s wrath will never fall on us, because Jesus took on all our sins. We are in God’s favour and this brings blessings to us each day. We are in God’s favour and this brings blessings to us each day. When on the cross Jesus cried out to his Father, “Why have you forsaken me?” (Matthew 27:46) Jesus became sin and was a curse. Now because of Jesus God always smiles on us. Sin had to be punished. Jesus now lives in us Galatians 2:20. We have put on Christ and when God sees us, he sees Jesus and his righteousness. We should seek first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness. We should not be slefish. We have nothing to prove, except our dependance on God who pours daily blessings upon us.

The final Hymn was Only by Grace after which the Closing Prayer was led by Sueann Henderson

Fellowship continued over refreshments in the church hall.
