Linda Halford gives a reading
Intercessory Prayer was led by Linda Halford and included:
*Our Father, we ask for your blessing and protection on our congregation. This world becomes more dark and difficult each day. All individuals can make such a difference for good or bad. Help us to serve and care for others and to be a light in our church and in our neighbourhoods on a one to one basis. We do understand your power to intervene.
*We ask you to comfort the wife and family of Tom Wallis. Please support and encourage his small congregation and let others come forward to lead.
*Please also help the daughter of Lloyd Burgess as her mother lives in a Care home. Please give them comfort and support.
*We pray for Roger and Anthea Lipross during this coming critical week. He is at risk of another stroke. Please help and heal Roger and lift them up.
*We miss Bill and Irene at church. We do recognise all the work they have done here. Please remove Bill’s pain, and the trauma of hospital appointments and help them both to get more sleep.
*Please help us to accept the things we cannot change, and change the things we can.

Hymn 4 – As the Deer
Hymn 5 – Blessed be the Lord God Almighty

geoffThe Message was given by Geoff Sole on the subject of Signs:   A sign is anything that points out something and informs us. We see them everywhere. Sign language is a visual language. God gives us signs in spiritual language to help us believe that Jesus is his Son. Hebrews 2:4. The focus of the book of John is that Jesus is God. There are 8 signs in the Gospel of John. When Jesus turned water into wine at a wedding in Cana of Galilee, that was the  beginning of these signs. John 2:11. The Holy Spirit guided men to write down and record all that happened. 2 Peter 1:21. Jesus could do all these things because he is the Son of God. We read in John 20:30-31, that Jesus also did many other signs that are not written in this book.  This should strengthen our belief.
