Hymn 4 – Be Still
Hymn 5 – Lord Jesus Christ

barryrobinsonThe Sermon was given by Barry Robinson on the subject of Patience.  None of us like to have to wait, especially in restaurants. Does Proverbs 14:29 describe you? James chapter 5 informs us about being  patient. Sometimes circumstances are beyond our control. Even then we worry and try to control things.  A farmer has to wait patiently for the rain. verse 7. We need to be patient with people who just will not change anything at all. Some people only see things in their own perspective and may never change.  The prophets had to be an example of suffering and patience. Verse 10. We need to get on with people as with parents and with church brethren. Sometimes problems are unexplainable as with Job. He had the right to say, “Why Me?” Verse 11. We may never understand in this life, but Job maintained his faith and remained patient with God. God is always in control. These verses are directly to do with the return of Jesus Christ. verses 7-9. Nothing will stop that happening. God’s purpose will be fulfilled. We will be blessed if we endure patiently. Verse 11. Our life is like a tapestry. We only see the strands underneath, but God sees the other side. We often expect a quick answer to prayer, but sometimes we have to wait. God was at work in Job’s life and he also is in ours. We should look up and wait with confidence. Micah 7:7. Look up at the majesty of God. Jesus died on the cross for us and we can look forward to peace for all eternity. Hebrews 12:1-2.

The Final Hymn  was I Heard the Voice of Jesus Say, after which the Closing Prayer was given by Linda Halford.
