Hymn 3 – Faithful One
Hymn 4 – Father God I Wonder

The Message was given by – Gavin Henderson2010-03-13 Gavin preaching in Watford
The book of James was written to support and encourage each other as followers of Jesus Christ. How to live out our faith, to build up and not to tear down. If we know of anyone suffering or in trouble or we are going through difficulties, our first response should be to pray. James 5:13. All Christians go through trials, because we all share in Christ’s suffering. 1 Peter 4:12-13. In good times we should praise God and be happy. James 5:13. Ephesians 5:19. James 5:14 instucts us what to do if we are unwell. We are a church that anoints the sick with oil and prays for healing. We often don’t want anyone to know, but we should not suffer alone. We should call for the help of our Elders and reach out to our brothers and sisters. Hebrews 11:1-2 gives us the definition of faith. James 5:15-16 says that the prayer of faith will heal the sick and our sins will be forgiven. We must put our faith in God. He has a plan for us and the power to help us. The world itself is fallen by sin and we are affected by that. We can be forgiven through Christ. Elijah was a man with a nature like ours. He prayed earnestly and God answered his prayers. Verses 17-18. Adam and Eve thought that Sue Ann Henderson leads Intercessory Prayer in Watford 2015-06-13they could live their own way and not God’s. Our relationship with God was healed by Christ. We can become what God intended us to be. That is the vision of James.

The Final Hymn was Love Divine all Loves Excelling after which the Closing Prayer was given by  Sueann Henderson.

chloeThe Young People’s Church ended the year with an informal lesson where we reflected on the things we learned, what we enjoyed, and what we would like to see in the future.  We then played a variety of board and floor games, followed with party food provided by Caroline and Jo.
