Hymn 5 – There is a Redeemer

The Message was given by Sueann Henderson on Total Forgiveness.
SueAnn Henderson leads worship 2 Please read Ephesians 4:29-32. Without forgiveness there can be no hope, no healing, no future and no salvation. This world is filled with hate and animosity. Can we ever have total forgiveness, or is it just a dream? We all fall short of God’s goal for us, so should we settle for less as it is beyond us?
Forgiveness is a major Biblical doctrine. Psalm 103:12. 130:3-4. Acts 10:43. Ephesians 1:7. Salvation begins with our forgiveness from God. Otherwise we would be loaded down with guilt and cut off from the presence of God. People hurt and upset us. If we don’t forgive others, then God will not forgive us. Mark 11:26. Christ forgave us. Ephesians 4:32. Therefore, as God forgave us, then we must forgive others.
Christianity is about forgiveness. God has only one solution for the forgiveness of sin and has shown us what to do. This affects our spiritual health. What is forgiveness? It is God’s plan and he has showered us with his grace. It lifts a heavy load from our shoulders. Our sin is blotted out and erased from the records. The debt is cancelled. Although undeserved, we are declared not guilty. Forgiveness is NOT, denying that evil was done or condoning evil. When hurt, not letting it continue to hurt us. Let go of anger and do not seek revenge. 1 Corinthians 13:5. Does forgiveness always lead to reconciliation? No, forgiveness depends on you, reconciliation depends on the other person. It must be mutual. We can forgive but not forget. God can forget because he is God. Hebrews 10:17. We should choose to forgive and then move on with our life. Jesus told us to forgive. Luke 23:34. Forgiveness brings hope and a future with a place in God’s family. This is the heart of the gospel. We must reach out to forgive others, and God will give us the grace to do this.
