Hymn 5 – The Servant King
2014-06-21 Watford Service-Mike Barlow preaching

The Sermon was given by Mike Barlow on God’s Faithfulness. The first fruit of the spirit is love, Galations 5:22. Faith is belief that God is always true, reliable, trustworthy and dependable, because he loves us. Like a father loves his children. He is like an anchor, unmoveable and he cannot lie. Titus 1:2.
Then why do we have doubts? We can be encouraged by the words God spoke to Joshua. He will never leave us. Joshua 1:verses 5 and 9. God is always faithful and protects us from evil. 2 Thessalonians 3:3. We should have confidence in him that he does hear our prayers. 1 John 5:14. For those who love God and seek his will, all things will work together for good. Romans 8:28. The story of Joseph is a good example of this. He waited many years before he understood what had happened to him and that it had been God’s plan. Genesis 37.
Having confidence in God builds confidence in us. We need to be faithful so that others can trust us. 1 Corinthians 4:1-2. Our future depends on our trust in God. Do we believe that God loves us and gave his son for us? John 3:16. We need to think of this all through our lives.

The Final Hymn was What a Faithful God have I after which the Closing Prayer was given by Phillip Halford.

Fellowship continued over Refreshments in the Church Hall.
