*In this nation there are the have and have nots. Many people are forgotton, especially the unemployed, the homeless and those disabled. We pray for leaders to make decisions that will benefit everyone.

Hymn 4 – Meekness and Majesty
Hymn 5 – Knowing you Jesus

Reading:  Before the message James Esom read Hebrews 12:5-11

Ricky FowlerThe message was given by Richard Fowler.  A big problem to many people is to understand God. How can he be both
vengeful and merciful? Why is he severe and good? Romans 11:22. Even church members can have a different understanding of God. He is 100% good. We need a balance. We read in 2 Samuel 6:1-7, the story of Uzzah. David had the Ark of God brought out of the house of Abinadab which was on a hill. It was accompanied by thirty thousand men and the sons of Abinadab, Ahio and Uzzah. They placed the Ark on a new cart pulled by oxen. When the oxen stumbled, Uzzah put out his hand and took hold of the Ark. God was angry and for his error struck him dead. Verse 7. The Hebrew word shal, meaning error, can also mean irreverence or neglect. What had been his error? In Numbers 4:15, we read that the sons of Kohath who were to carry the things in the Tabernacle, were not to touch any holy thing or they would die. It does sound harsh. God gave Moses full instructions of how to build the Ark in Exodus 25:1-16. It was to have 4 rings in the 4 corners with poles to carry the Ark. Who are we that we can supersede God’s decisions? God is God! One day God will resurrect Uzzah and give him another chance. What is the purpose of the nation Israel? God called them out of slavery, revealed himself to them and performed many miracles. They were God’s special people and other nations would see the awesome holiness of God. A light to the rest of the world. We now see God’s grace in action where all people can share in his blessings, if we have the right attitude and approach and do his will. Do not deflate the word of God, it is meant for our wholeness.
