*We are grateful God, that we are not a statistic, but each one of us are loved and even the hairs on our heads are numbered!
*Please be with charities at this time of the years with the cold of winter
*Thank you for this church, our members and ministers. They are such a blessing
*Be with Street Angels out tonight helping in Watford
*Thank you for the Prayer Table and we ask you be with Reg and bless him as he mans the table in the cold of winter
*At the end of the year, we give you praise and thanks for the blessings over this past year and we leave the burdens with you as you care for the ill and distressed, those out of work and who have lost loved ones
*We pray for those of this congregation who are ill and not able to get to church, such as Goerge Campbell and Irene Wilson
*Be with the Dedman family as they mourn the death of Don

We watched a video of Dr. Joseph Tkach Speaking of Life entitled Advent-Love

Hymn 4. Ten Thousand Reasons

The Sermon was given by James Henderson on Truth.  He began by announcing that they had been to Canada to visit their son, Fraser and his wife who have a newborn baby, Hazel.
The work of the year for 2016 has been published as ‘post-truth’ and means the truth that appeals to emotions rather than the factual truth.  There are 3 basic ways the Bible explains truth–as an accurate report; as a collection of faith-based ideas such as the gospel; and the embodiment of truth in Jesus Christ.
We should not get involved in ‘post-truth’ or saying what we think people want to hear or what puts us in a good light.  We see an example of this in 2 Chronicles 18 and here we encounter the modern day saying ‘to tell nothing but the truth’!
We proclaim the ‘Gospel Truth’ a phrase which is found in Galations a number of times when Paul is addressing heresy parading as truth.  We should preach, teach and live the gospel truth even though it may be unpopular (see Galatians 4:16)
Follow Jesus, who IS THE TRUTH.  We look to Jesus for grace and truth and he dwells in us through the Spirit of Truth.

The final Hymn was Guide Ne,O Thou Great Jehovah after which the Closing Prayer was led by Phillip Halford

Fellowship continued over refreshments in the church hall.

In Children’s Church Linda Halford took the young people through a review of the past year and a look into the future year to come. New Beginnings were discussed and that with God, the things we think are impossible, just may be possible if we turn to him.
