Announcements were given by George Henderson and included:
*Dorothy thanks all those who gave donations for the toiletry bags for the Women’s Refuge. They are very much appreciated.
*Rowland Gadsden is making good progress with one arm but less with the other. Janie has become very sensitive to light and sounds and needs to wear sun glasses in the house. Please continue to pray for their family.
Please also continue to pray for the family of Keith Stevenson. His father Trevor is very ill with cancer. The medical team has to decide
the best way to treat this. The family have decided to sell Trevor’s house and he will move down to Cornwall.

Hymn 3 – How Deep the Father’s Love for us

Intercessory Prayer was led by  Irene Wilson and included:
*Loving God, on this cold and frosty morning we thank you for your glorious creation. We should appreciate it more and take better care of it.
*We have peace in this land. Please bring peace and comfort to all those injured and grieving in Egypt. Thy Kingdom come.
*Please help the families of the Argentinian sailors. Please let them know and have hope for their future.
*We ask your help, protection and miracles for all the persecuted Christians around the world, just because they know you. We leave them in your loving hands.
*Please bless and heal Janie and Rowland of their health problems and help the other members of the family to cope.
*Blossom has been unwell. Please give her rest and comfort.
*George Campbell is now in a Hospice. Please give him peace and comfort and strength to Marissa and their family.
*Please let the planned move to Cornwall go very well for Trevor and his family. Guide the medical team with their decision.
*We pray for our country. Please give guidance to our leaders and respect for their office.
*We thank our Queen and her husband for their dedication and example for so many years. Please continue to bless them.
*Advent begins next week when Christians around the world give thanks for our Saviour. Jesus lived as we lived, died and then you raised him up for us to have eternal life.
*We thank you for our safety and protection. Come Lord Jesus Come.

Reading:  Before the next hymn Linda Halford read 1 Corinthians 13.

Hymn 4 – Love Divine all Loves Excelling

The Message by David Gibbs was played from a recording at our Paignton Festival in October 2017. We read the story of the death and resurrection of Lazarus in John 11:1-45. Jesus loved Lazarus and his two sisters Mary and Martha. Verse 5. He wept when Lazarus was dead. Verse 35. Jesus then told the people there to take away the stone from the tomb. Verse 39. Jesus called out to Lazarus to come out of the tomb and for the people to
loose him and let him go. Verses 43-44. This is all because of God’s love. We also are called to come out of the darkness into God’s light. His love surrounds us now and will take us into eternity. God sings over us. Zephaniah 3:17. How do we respond? Do we let the realities of life distract us? Do we forget that God loved us First? Satan wants us to doubt God’s love. We should say out loud that GOD LOVES ME! Read Lamentations 3:22. His mercy never fails. We must trust God and let his love flow through us and be thankful.

The Final Hymn was The King of Love my Shepherd Is, after which the Closing Prayer was given by Winston Bothwell.

Fellowship continued over Refreshments in the Church Hall.

Young People’s Church took place during the Sermon time.
