ADVENTURE CAMP 2018 took place at the Sir John Lowther Scout Centre near Kettering between 24-28 August. There were around 20 campers, 10 Creche, 8 Trainee Staff and 27 Volunteer Staff, some part-time. There was an outing to Boughton House, to Tywell Church (The Theme was around David Livingstone this year) and to the Splash Leisure Pool. The outing to Wicksteed Park had to be cancelled because of heavy rain, but extra games and activities ensured that the campers had a wonderful day regardless.

A variety of activities included Archery, Bubbles, Candlemaking, Christian Living, Craft, First Aid, Obstacle course, Pedalkarts, Climbing Wall and games of all kinds. Mornings began with Worship and evening activities included   Quizzes, a Saxophone Recital by Deborah Glenister, a Film Night and Campfire. Each evening ended with a ‘Bedtime Story’ that sent everyone off to bed in a positive attitude. At the end of Camp, as at SEP, awards were given for each activity, for the best team and for the best camper girl and boy. This year the best girl camper wa Lydia Williams and the best boy camper was Callum silcox.

Please pray for God to bless Adventure Camp as a wonderful outreach to young people where they see Christianity modelled in a fun and challenging environment. These children are the future, and as they learn Christianity from these events, we hope that God will work in their lives to stay close to Him and hopefully stay with us!
