*Saturday 6 October will be our Harvest Service where we take up a collection for the homeless and needy. Traditionally these items have gone to New Hope Trust and they request non-perishable food items as well as supplies like tin foil and toilet rolls.

Offertory
was given by David Silcox, who said a prayer of blessing over the Offering after it was collected. We cannot repay God for all his blessings, forgiveness and eternal life—our offerings are a response to God’s love, grace and mercy. David carried on after the blessing on the offering to offer some Intercessory Prayer, including:
*Thank you so much for the opportunity to give. It is a great blessing to be a part of your work and we ask you to put your blessing upon it and guide the use of this offering
*We reflect on the service and dedication of Len and Pam Maylin, your faithful servants. Put your arms around them and be with them. We pray for your will in their lives
*People will be travelling to Festivals over these next few days and we pray for protection on their journeys as well as a blessing on the Festival Services and activities.

Hymn 2. Lo, He Comes With clouds Descending
Hymn 3. Love Divine, All Loves Excelling

The Message was given by Barry Robinson who began by reading 1 Chronicles 16:23 which says to worship the Lord in the splendour of his holiness. We are to live a life of holiness with the object of our worship entral to our lives. Barry related a brief history of God’s people in the old testament. Loving obedience was expected of them and their history has many lessons for us. Hebrews 9:9 the coming of Jesus brings a new order and Barry gave three pointers for worshipping God in the splendour of his holiness:
1-Concentration-focus on God in worship. We come to worship God together and cast our cares on Him
2-Consecration
3-Celebration-joyfully worship. Our sacrifices are tangeable evidence of our love
He gave 4 simple suggestions:
*Priority-make worship a priority
*Privilege-worshipping God is a great privilege
*Pleasure-Joyfully worshipping should be a pleasure not a chore
*Practice-it should be our practice and we need to keep practicing to perfect love

The final Hymn was What A Friend We Have In Jesus after which the Closing Prayer was led by Peter Joit
