Great and wondrous creator God, we are thankful for the many blessings we enjoy
*Thank you for the sacrifice of Jesus Christ and your plan for mankind
Thank you that we can bring our tokens of offering to help those even in this prosperous land who live in poverty. It is a joy to share our abundance.
*You care for every human being without favouritism, even in extremes of wealth and poverty
*We pray for our leaders that they will have wisdom and true concern for all the people
*The Indonesian earthquake and tsunami caused havoc and our hearts to out to those bereaved and destitute now, having lost all. We pray for the aid agencies and pray that you will put into people’s hearts to help where they can
*We bring before you those among us who face different health problems, particularly Tina Sullivan with an upcoming operation.
*Be with Henry who fell from a tree in Ireland, and Carn Catherwood that you would continue to be with him
*This is a difficult time for the Maylin family as they suffer the loss of Len who died recently.
*Diverse trials being suffered by our families and fellow Christians—you know them all and we ask that you care and help us support and encourage them
*Unemployment is a severe trial—please give them wisdom and encouragement as they go forward
*We look forward to the time when tears will be wiped away and in the meantime look to you for direction.

Hymn 4. All Things Bright And Beautiful

The Message was given by David Silcox on the question of How Big Is Your God? He began by talking about a ‘big’ ant, big elephants, a steam train, the jumbo 747 ets, Niagara falls before reading scriptures that spoke of the greatness and power of God He then showed a couple of photos about the journey of Voyager as it sped away from earth and finally out beyond the Milky Way. Voyager took photos of earth from the vastness of space and the universe, and a video clip illustrated how puny and small we actually are Compared with the Universe and with our limitless God. What is man that God is mindful of him? His children!

The final Hymn was All Things Bright And Beautiful after which the Closing Prayer was led by James Esom

Young People’s Church was held during the Sermon time and led by Geoff and Jean Sole. The young people read and discussed a Ladybird book about the life of David. The young people did a lot of the reading themselves. They also talked about their experiences at the Autumn Harvest Festival in Paignton, Devon.

Fellowship continued over refreshments in the church hall.
