There was a Church Service on Saturday 1 December 2018

The Service was held in St. Peter’s Church, North Watford, at 11am as usual.

The Opening Prayer was given by Pat Newton

Worship was led by Sue Ann Henderson, who was just home from visiting her family in the USA over Thanksgiving. Sadly, her Uncle died before Thanksgiving.  Sue Ann began by reading Psalm 145, I will extol you, my God and King:
Hymn No. 1 – O Worship The King
Hymn No. 2 – Rejoice, The Lord Is King

Announcements were given by George Henderson and included:
*Irene Tibbenham’s relative, Rodrigo suffered a gunshot wound and is in critical condition. Please pray for him and his family
*Pray for the Regional Conference taking place in Market Harborough tomorrow.
*Also pray for the National Ministry Team meeting on Monday
*Watford’s Winter Social is on 15 December.  The Service on that day will begin at 2:30pm and will be followed by the Social, including a buffet dinner, and will end at 9pm
*As there is no Operation Rudolph this year, Churches Together are making parcels with the YMCA to give for the needy–see St. Peter’s notice at the back of the hall and participate if you can.
*Peter Early’s funeral was last Wednesday.  The order of Service is at the front of the hall if you would like to see it.  The funeral of Alan Grist was also last Wednesday.
*St. Peter’s Quarterly Newsletter, People Like You, is at the back of the hall in parcels by streets.  Please take a parcel to distribute if you are able to help.
*The GCI Weekly Update by President Greg Williams is on the Noticeboard.
*The Video’s of the Passing the Baton Service in Charlotte, North Carolina, Headquarters of Grace Communion International are available to view on the website under Videos.  We saw part I last week in the Sermon slot and will see the second part this week in today’s Sermon slot.

Hymn No. 3 – Father, I Place Into You Hands

Intercessory Prayer was given by David Silcox and included:
*We come in prayer during our worship and we continue to praise and thank you
*As we dwell and abide in you, we ask in confidence that your will will be done.
*Help us to dwell in the light, away from the dark, the deceit and evil of this world
*Our relationship with others reflects our relationship with you–to serve and love one another and so we come to you in Intercessory Prayer out of our concern for those we know who are in troubles or pain, praying foremost that thy will be done.
*We consider also those who do not know you and ask that you help us to reflect your light and witness
*Be with the family of Irene–we pray for your healing power and comfort
*Comfort those suffering bereavement, particularly the families of Alan Grist and Peter Early

Hymn no. 4 – As The Deer

The Sermon space was used to show the video of the Passing The Baton Ceremony in Charlotte, North Carolina, as the Presidency of Grace Communion International was passed from Dr. Joseph Tkach to Dr. Greg Williams.

The Final Hymn was Praise My Soul The King Of Heaven, after which the Closing Prayer was given by James Esom.

Fellowship continued over Refreshments in the Church Hall.
