Welcome to our Virtual Worship ~ may it be a blessing to you and bring your hope and peace.

Things are not always ‘black and white’ in this world! Life is much more complicated than we would perhaps like it to be. Society, education, TV and many things have an influence on us, and often we accept these things unconsciously, seeming to have no control over our ideas and feelings, perhaps like this next screen. See if you can find and pinpoint the illusive black dot:

I personally found my prejudices challenged when 15 traveller/gypsy caravans moved into the small park opposite our home. So that has been a wake-up call in my life. Thankfully Christ in us can cleanse and put right our perspectives. In the news recently we have seen and heard much about freedom from oppression, racism and prejudice.  The words of our first hymn are very poignant—“We will love both friend and foe, for His children have true liberty and preach thee, too, as love knows how, by kindly words and virtuous life!” That is our Christian response!

Freedom is a two-way street—if you want to have freedom you must extend freedom to others – let’s hear Dr. Joseph Tkach in Speaking of Life.

Although this was an old Speaking of Life around an election time, the message from God never grows old—our ultimate trust is in God, our Saviour. In our next hymn we sing, “In my distress I cried upon the Lord my God who answered me and set me free. Put your confidence in God because with the Eternal on my side, why should I fear what men can do: trust not in princes nor in man, better far to trust in God.”
HYMN NO. 3 – O GIVE THANKS UNTO OUR GOD – WCG 133

O GIVE THANKS UNTO OUR God, blessed be His name! We sang ‘I called upon the Lord my god; He answered me and set me free!’ One of the ways God can answer us is through His word (Bible Study) but also through hearing messages of preaching.

Someone sent me these two meaningful quotes that I want to share with you:

And yet, it is very profound to say ‘ALL LIVES MATTER’ and thank God that we are free to say it. In His Name.

For those who were not able to join the Thursday evening GCI AGAINST RACISM Zoom event from 7-8pm, there were 63 in attendance. David Gibbs, Pastor of  Birmingham facilitated. Maureen Watson Sang a hymn at the beginning and this was followed by prayers from those who wished to participate. Everyone was asked to mute their microphones unless praying. James Lambu led a hymn at the end and closed in prayer. It was a wonderful and meaningful time together for our ‘hour of prayer’ in GCI against Racism.
