Hello,

Have you ever looked forward to something with great anticipation only to find that when it arrives it’s a bit disappointing? I’ve been watching Line of Duty, a TV programme about rooting out corruption in the police force, since series one. Last Sunday was the final episode of series six in which a corrupt officer the good guys had been looking for from the beginning, was caught. This revelation sent social media into a frenzy with comments like, ‘Is that it?’, and ‘We need a seventh series to resolve this.’

Sometimes the things we have put our hopes in can leave us frustrated when they come about; we work hard to get a degree, but then can’t get a job; or we strive for promotion, but the position brings extra stress and tension.
Christianity promises a wonderful future that won’t leave us disappointed or frustrated when it arrives. The final book of the Bible tells of a world where every tear will be wiped from our eyes because there will be no more death, mourning, crying or pain.[1] That’s the world I want to be a part of.

Is such an ending possible or is it just ‘pie in the sky’? Why not check out Christianity’s claims and see for yourself where they lead.

Kind regards,
Barry Robinson
